Cue — Privacy Policy Last updated: July 29, 2026
Cue is a teleprompter and video app for creators. Cue is built to keep your content private. This policy explains what Cue does and does not do with your information.
The short version Almost everything Cue does — recording, teleprompter voice-following, transcription, and captioning — happens entirely on your device. Your videos, audio, and scripts never leave your phone unless you choose to share or save them yourself. The one exception is Cue Write, the optional AI script generator: when you use it, only the text you type is sent to generate your script (details below). Cue has no user accounts, no analytics, and no advertising.
Information Cue accesses (and why) Cue asks your permission to use the following, only to provide its features. Except for Cue Write (below), this information is used on your device and is never sent to us or any third party.
Your videos, audio, and scripts are stored locally on your device. You can delete them at any time within the app.
AI Script Generation (Cue Write) Cue Write is an optional feature that turns a short idea or brief into a script or hooks. When you use it, the text you type is sent securely to our processing service and to our AI provider, Anthropic, solely to generate your result, which is returned to your device. That text is used only to create your script — we do not store it, it is not linked to your identity, and it is never used for advertising or tracking. Anthropic does not use it to train its models. If you never use Cue Write, no text ever leaves your device. Every other part of Cue — your recordings, your voice, the teleprompter, trim, and captions — always runs entirely on your device.
Information Cue does NOT collect
Third parties The only third party that ever receives any of your content is Anthropic, and only the text you type into Cue Write, only when you use that feature, and only to generate your result. All of Cue's other features are provided by Apple's built-in frameworks that run locally on your device.
Children's privacy Cue is rated 4+ and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy If we change how Cue handles data, we will update this policy and describe what changed before the new behavior takes effect.
